Abstract
This article is a short description of the lecture given by Academician N. L. Dobretsov at the plenary meeting of the bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences, Russian Academy of Sciences. The lecture was devoted to the modern problems of geodynamics. Participants' comments and discussion is described shortly. The article is accompanied with online supplement containing original PPT presentation given by N. L. Dobretsov.
