New and perspective opportunities of the microprobe analysis in geophysical observatory "Borok"

Tselmovich V. A.

Abstract

The results of long-term work with use of a method of the microprobe in Geophysical observatory "Borok" were submitted. It was shown, that the method actively used and develops. With its use various geophysical problems are solved. Use of a new device for cathodoluminescence will give many opportunities for the analysis of minerals. Intensity of the cathodoluminescence radiations is strongly connected to density of defects which depend on such factors, as temperature of formation, speed of cooling, deformation and a radioactive irradiation. The review of opportunities of perspective method of the Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) are given. The method EBSD enables studying minerals with higher localness. The chemical compound and structure of minerals will be studied simultaneously. The opportunity of research of phase structure metamorphic breeds (with diagnostics of quartz and coesite), researches of deformations metamorphic breeds with allocation of grains with different orientation of crystals will appear.
