Abstract

North East Interdisciplinary Science research institute was organized in 1960 in Magadan as the first Academic institution in northeastern Siberia. Institute collaborate during long time with international geological community on the following: geology of transitional zone between ancient Siberian continent and northeastern Pacific and Arctic, regional tectonics and metallogenesis of Au, Ag, Sn, W, Mo, Pt, stratigraphy of the Phanerozoic, magmatism and metamorphism, nature of the lower crust, paleogeography and climate change issues. Interesting results obtained on Carboniferous-Devonian boundary, on bipolarity of Permian faunas, on distribution of granite provinces in Pacific rimming, on nature of granite-metamorphic domes, on lower crust and mantle xenoliths in alkaline lavas, on new generation tectonic/metallogenesis maps, on Late Cenozoic environmental evolution in Beringia.
