Earthquakes strong precursors of Sea of Okhotsk plate on satellite images

Abstract

A new precursor of earthquakes is set – the formation of cloud-free spots near the epicenter in cloud fields at seismic activity in region. The spatiotemporal relationship between earthquakes and cloud anomalies was studied by statistical methods. An extended linear cloud anomaly of NW Compass Point over Sea of Okhotsk is a precursor of a strong earthquake on the plate, their subsequent accumulation, more than three, determines the region of the epicenter. It has been shown that these cloud anomalies in the atmosphere can be used for short-term prediction of the earthquake.
